Overall, I thought it was a good race. I liked running through Jackson Park and running in a different part of the city. My watch calculated more than 13.1 miles and when I checked my split breakdown it was different than what I was calculating in my head from the miles marked on the course. I thought the finish line would be at the start so I started my kick a little too early. Oh well.

One complaint was the corrals. I should not have been passing people at mile 1 because they were walking. I was put in D. I did not see any pacers in my corral at all.

I do no't have any complaints with the aid stations, maybe have the volunteers be a little more spread out and make it consistent which one comes first water or gatorade.

The shirt is nice, other than that the goody bag was lacking, no virtual bag or anything else. Food after the race- I could have done without the fruit cup and substituted it for a banana. I love when the races have protein drinks after. Unless there was more food somewhere else that I missed. I'm not a big fan of pizza. But such is my diet.

That hill at mile 10 was fun.. at least I've ran on it before, but coming from the opposite direction.

The shuttles are nice, but I'm not taking public transportation and waiting for the bus at 5:00am, thankfully there was a $20 Uber code that took me down to the race site for $22. I took the shuttle to Millennium park to hop on the train home.

The medal was so so. I don't pick races because of the medals, but if I did I probably wouldn't pick this one.

I love that CARA had gear check. Always a nice touch.

I think this is my new favorite race.

The course was different from others I have ran, I loved finishing on Soldier Field and running through the tunnel and being on the jumbotron. However, that pails in comparison to the honoring of those who have fallen and the active duty service members who passed out medals. I was a puddly mess at the start, from Taps, to mentioning names of those who have fallen, telling the story of the lady, and mentioning those service members in the corrals. It was especially emotional because a friend is currently in Afghanistan.

Back to the race, the medal is beautiful. Parking was a breeze. Post race food was standard. Icing area was perfect. I didn't want to wait in line to get stretched. Start corrals provided less congestion, even though I was pushed back. I was still able to run at my goal pace. Shirt was standard, I liked that it wasn't a Bears theme. I like the reusable bag, always a plus for me.

Only complaint is I didn't think there was enough hydration at the end of the race.

Perfect for a PR!

PS. GO PACKERS!!!!!

This was my first year running the Lakefront 10mi. The course was fun and the weather was not too bad. I really liked running up Cricket hill, even though I thought it would be at the END of the race, not beginning. I was a little sore after that, but that's my fault. Everyone at CARA is so friendly and helpful. They bring a lot to the running community here in Chicago. For around $50 you cannot go wrong with this race.

The race shirt is nice and practical. (1/4 zip) Another thing I liked is we received a reusable bag versus a plastic bag, not to mention having packet pickup at Universal Sole allows me to pick up much needed items before race day!

The food after the race was probably the best out of any of the races I have done, cannot go wrong with a free bottle of Core Power!

I was a little later to the race than I would have liked to have been. Thankfully I am a CARA member and was able to use their gear check at Congress hotel and the bathrooms there, which was key.

I was just getting over a bad cold, so the weather didn't help, but I still really enjoyed it. Even with a slight lack of training.

I loved the seeded start corrals, I just need to remember to submit a time for next year!
Course was great, I'm in sales so for me it was cool to run around the loop and see the city in a different light besides the day in and day out business atmosphere.

Post race area was decent. I mainly went to get stretched out. I always think they need more of those.
I liked the simplicity of the t-shirt, but like a lot of people I wish it had the year.

I don't mind the expo being at Navy Pier. I always spend more time than necessary at the expo.

Untimed 5k. I think that says a lot. I didn't realize it was not timed until a couple of days before.

It was kind of nice to get a cotton t-shirt instead of a tech shirt since I have so many of those. The medal was really nice for it being a 5K and not timed.

I think this is the same event company that puts on the Ditka Dash and the Rollie 5K.

Volunteers didn't seem to care.
