I thought this was a great race for what it was. A lot of snow was melting and parts of the course were flooded or iced over. It was nice to have volunteers standing along the icy parts to let us know, but that doesn't take away from how freezing cold my feet were from being wet.

I did not expect a PR, which this race put racing into a new perspective for me. I always try and PR however, I sometimes need to take in the joy of racing and the accomplishment of being there.

The medal is pretty and the fleece is useful. I donated the hat to a homeless shelter since it did not fit my head.

The food after the race was great too. I love that they seem to also have free photos online, even though I have to search for them. The volunteers were great as always with any Team Ortho race.

Although I was miserable, I will probably sign up again.

Vision event management always puts on well ran races.

Course was a little icy, but they managed to cone it off and put ice melt on it. Over all it is a good course, adding some hills and looping around the stadium and the Hank Aaron Trail. The long sleeve shirt is cute. It is cotton, but I don't want a tech shirt every single race. I can't remember if we received anything else. I think coupons for a few local places.

Parking was easy since it was at Miller Park. Post race food was standard, banana, water, and bagel.
I didn't think it was an issue, but parking was $5. Much cheaper than anywhere in Chicago
The start line didn't have any pace corrals or marked areas to keep strollers away from runners. It was annoying and frustrating.

Proceeds went to Feeding America of Eastern WI. It was cool that the collected food before hand and we received raffle tickets for a turkey and something else. All I know is I won a Turkey for mom.

The race started and ended at Navy Pier. Even though it is a tourist trap it was nice to have a change of scenery. The one thing that stunk for the slower runners was the course wasn't roped off so tourists were flooding the course.

Parking was validated for $4. That cannot be beat.

Post race stretching was nice, food great, gear check standard, vendors unique (one of them was a cheese vendor, I LOVED the medal. It spins. Bib material was weird, but that isn't a big deal. Shirts were weird. Hooded semi tech shirts that fit weird. I liked the reusable bags, I use mine all the time.

I am pretty positive I will be running this race again this year.

I initially signed up for this race for fun and just to finish. I ended up with a PR. The course was pretty standard for Chicago.

Medal is unique, I just wish the ribbon was more substantial. I like the sweatshirt, I have too many t-shirts.

Food after the run was nice, especially the candy. Again, Team Ortho has great volunteers. I think most of them were dressed up.

It ran along the path, which wasn't closed off to runners not racing which isn't fun, but understandable. Again, I love that they have free pictures on Facebook.

This was my second half marathon. I loved being able to run on LSD. The people cheering in the neighborhood was nice too.

The only problem was I was getting bored during the race, which caused me to slow down. I strolled along reading the signs because some of them were humorous. (around mile 9) The people cheering over the bridge was cool. Otherwise like others have said it is a boring course. It was also quite and peaceful until the end of the race. People did not line up according to pace which annoys me more than anything.

The medal is classic looking. Which I do like. It was nice to receive a long sleeve shirt, even though mine has a hole from the seam not being sewed properly.

I liked the expo, hate that it is at the way end of Navy Pier. It is also weird that they charge to use the shuttle busses, when the June half does not. It is not convenient to get it.

Deep dish pizza after the race is gross. I was so freaking hungry after the race and pizza was the only option. If I ever sign up again I'll probably drive down and search for parking.

Overall I did like the race. I won't be racing it this year.
