You are starting at a Taco Bell in East Hartford. You eat a taco and run a loop (about a mile). Repeat this 9 more times. 10 tacos, 10 loops, and 10 miles. Since you are constantly in Taco Bell, and around stores and gas stations, there is no need for aide stations, port-a-potties, or post race food.
Rules are simple:
Start your GPS watch or phone before you eat your first taco.
All tacos will be eaten in the Taco Bell
You may use the restroom
If you cannot hold down your food you are disqualified
1 taco per loop
2 and a half hour time limit
Entry fee- price of your tacos
Desert taco can be eaten before you start your tenth loop

There is parking all around,, a DJ showed up, and the Taco Bell employees were helpful.

I recommend the rolled chicken tacos. Limited amount of food and choice of dipping sauces. Do not go with hot sauce nor dairy. Also people complained about the potato taco (I had no idea they had this).

The 10k race strated at 7:00am and the 5k started at 8:00am (which got pushed to 8:25am to accommodate the 10k finishers). The bib pickup and same day registration took place in an enclosed area. It was well organized and you got your bib assigned to you the morning of the race. The timing company had devices along the course to tell if you ran past certain areas. There was a DJ out on the course. And the inflatable start and finish arch faced the crowd. (Great idea so when pictures are taken you get the starting sign in the picture. When you cross the finish line you get the finish sign in the picture.
Medals were given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the different age groups. Age groups were in 5 year increments.
Port-a-potties were scarce. I saw only 2 bathrooms on or near the course.
The scenery was beautiful, you heard nature all around you, the course was well marked, the police closed down streets and guided traffic.
There was plenty of food and water before, during, and after the race.

Santa's Run is a local race that is family and kid friendly race. The price can not be beat ($10 pre registration or $20 day of). If you want a shirt it's $20 (tech shirt). Pleanty of parking and port-a-potties (by the high school). There is a costume contest at 11:30 (race starts at noon). After the race there is a raffle.
The race it's self is somewhat challenging. You start by lining up by time expected to finish the race. You run about .4 of a mile downhill and make a left. Around .3 of a mile and you are hitting elevation. Once you get to the top you make a left and enjoy some downhill.
Durning miles 1.5 through 2.8 you are going up and down hills. And just as you think it is over you make a right and have one last challenge. You are half a mile from the finishing line.
At this point you have .4 of a mile climb. You are running parallel to the high school. At this point most people are huffing and puffing their up the hill.
As you reach parking lot D you make a right. You enter the parking lot and have a small semicircle and you cross the finishing line.
Great run and value.

2018 was my second year running this event. Get a sead card. If not you will be running in the back of the race (behind thousands of runners). You will hit some hills early in the race so be ready. Also spectators will try to get you to drink with them. (If you are into this great, if not watch out). Get there early and pay for parking. It is well worth it (no long walk back to your car or ticket). No shirt or swag is included in race fee. You can purchase a shirt.
Great run and athletes are friendly. If you are lucky (and I was) you may end up running by the cameras and end up on TV.

This is fun, friendly, and supportive race. Don't get me wrong you will be challenged mentally and physically. The race is a 2-ish mile loop. There is elevation in the first mile. This year the course was covered in snow. There is 4 areas of water. 3 became "rivers" of water and mud. You had to embrace the suck (direct quote from the RD) and run through the muck 3 times per lap.
As the race went on, snow melted and the course turned mainly into mud, snow, water crossings, rocks, and roots. (I loved every minute)
There was one aid station. You passed by it when you started a new lap. There was vegan, gluten free, and regular foods (both hot and cold), water, Scratch, soups, fruits, etc. There was one area of restrooms (they were heated). Finally there was 2 areas of shelter to store your running gear.
