HF#9696. This is my 2nd year doing Surftown Half Marathon. It's a great race, which brought me back this year. The supporters are wonderful and it's such beautiful views around Misquamicut. The hill near the Ocean House is brutal, but other then that it's a great course. Not a fan of the t'shirts and the parking can be difficult though.

HF#9696. I did this race because I love the Marvel comic's Avengers and I was also going for my coast to coast medal. First off, I wasn't impressed with the expo. When I got to the expo, everything was sold out for Avenger's swag. A HUGE disappointment! I really wanted some items and couldn't get them. For some of us, we can't be at the expo 3 days in advance, some of us can't arrive until closer to the race date. Second, we started at the back of the pack and couldn't get any pictures with characters, because the balloon people were right there. I was also disappointed with the finish. At Disney World you have a back drop to have a picture with your finish medals, NOT in this race. We got hit with the Santa Anna winds, which even made the race not that enjoyable as dust was hitting us in the face and tumbleweeds attacking us. Highlights to the race: loved running through the parks, the comic con actors where amazing outside of the park as were the veterans at the stadium. I don't know what other Disneyland races are like, but after this experience I think I'll stick with the Disney World races instead.

HF#9696. This race is one of my least favorite races. The swag, the expo and all was amazing! But the course was very boring and not that many spectators cheering you on. I am impressed how many law enforcements was out and about and made sure to thank every single one of them. Lots of parking, but it was a nightmare trying to get into the park to park, felt like hours and even though we stayed outside the park at one of the local hotels, it would of probably been quicker to have walked in rather then drive in. The cost of the race is well worth it for what you receive!!! I'd like to do another Diva race, but in another location, just wasn't impressed with the location of the Long Island one. If they ran around Jones Beach or up in the Orient Point area, it would of probably been more appealing.

HF#9696. LOVE this race!!! This was my 1st ever Disney race and half marathon. It was an amazing experience!!! I'd consider doing this race again. Only thing is that its rather expensive!!! And I also wish I could of had pictures with some of the characters, but the lines where ridiculously long and I didn't want to get swept by the balloon people. But the shirts are nice, the course is great and the Expo is amazing! It was overall an amazing experience that I'll never forget!!!

HF#9696. I had done this race for a few years up until 2013, which was my last year running it... I think it's a great race because the money raced helps the African Penguins. You get a t'shirt and your race entry gets you into the Aquarium afterward. The after part of the race is good too. Only thing I'm not impressed with is the course. You run through the woods at some point which the property is owned by the Dennison Pequot Nature Center. The Aquarium isn't aloud to do anything to this area, so since it's in the fall, there is a lot of leaves on the ground and you cannot see what's underneath it. On my way back through the woods, I hit a tree root and crashed into a tree. I was able to finish the race, but when I finished the race, nobody was helpful in helping me find an EMT or ambulance because my face was bleeding. Once I found a EMT on my own, they said "what do you want me to do for you?" Really??? Ended up going to the emergency room on my own to find out I had a concussion. My mom continues to walk the Penguin race, but 2013 was my last and final year. That race has never sat well with me and how things were handled.
