I received an entry into the virtual race through BibRave (www.bibrave.com). I am a BibRave Pro (ambassador). I had a great time promoting this race. My social media posts were very creative. I live streamed the race through Instagram. Since the race was virtual I carried Nuun , salt stick, and water. There was no expo so I did not provide any stars.
My brother ran this race also. It was his first official 5K. He received his swag and wore his bib during the race. Unfortunately, there was a mix up and I have not received my swag.
I can not wait until we have in person races again. This is one race I want to take part in.

My entry fee was paid for through BibRave. When I initially tried my code New York would not accept it. Once they new there was an issue the race management fixed the issue (this was done in less than 24 hours). I love the fact that Pride Stride follows their social media, likes posts, comments on posts, and shared several of my posts.
Pride Stride has many charity partners with this event so I was able to pick an area of the US that impacts me and my family. I chose to run virtually out of New York because of the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (save and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community).
With a virtual run I got to create the course I ran. I ran my first 100 mile race this summer, and part of today's run was on the same area that I ran my ultra. From now on I will remember the Pride Stride 10K when I run around my neighborhood.

"Silver Moon Race 100 mile ultra"

I am a disabled athlete looking to run their first 100 mile ultra. Silver Moon Race was incredible. Their race is $180. The virtual option is $60 ($2.50 processing fee). They give you a medal, a belt buckle, and a towel. You can purchase a shirt for $28 dollars. During COVID 19 Silver Moon is giving runners the opportunity to achieve their goals. I was given 30 hours to run 100 miles. After you finished your race you submitted your time.
I set up my home as my base. The first 2 hours I ran on my own. The next 25 hours 38 minutes and 30 seconds I was running with other people. I had 15 friends sign up at different times to run with me. 4 people came out and ran with me. Some of the 19 people I never ran with nor knew before this race. It gave me and the running community a reason to believe again. Believe in humanity and the the human spirit.
This race was larger than myself. It became our 100 mile ultra. Now whenever we run around town everyone is still talking about this 100 mile ultra.

Achilles International CT Chapter Hope and Possibly races are an empowering and motivating experiences. Achilles International helps disabled athletes compete in mainstream sports. Our athletes range from visually impaired, wheelchair, prostectics, to TBI, and mobility impaired. We have guides out helping our athletes. It is an amazing experience.
The 5k course has minimal elevation. There is one aid station (about half way point). There are no port-a-potties on the course. The roads are open to traffic, but there are police and volunteers all over the course.
You start the race next to a charter school. The loop ends near the gym.
The 10k is a double loop.
There is food, vendors, giveaways, and awards after the race. There is a PT company that does pre and post race stretching. Everyone receives a shirt and a finishers medal.
There is ample parking, lots of bathrooms, and the gym stays open to keep you cool.
Because this event takes place during the summer it could be extremely hot and humid (97 degrees in 2019) or it could rain. Be prepared.

Race Management

Get there early to get a good parking spot. Port-a-potties are in multiple locations. In the description of the race there are no aid stations (trails so there is no way to set up aid stations). It is recommended that you bring your own drink(s). There is post race food. Swag varies from a shirt to socks. You can purchase a shirt separately.
There are two distances to choose from 3.3 or 5.5 miles. Each course starts off the same and the 3.3 miles goes to the left.
The 5.5 miles has lots of inclines, declines, rooks, roots, branches, fallen trees, and mud. It is hot and humid. Bring bug spray. If not expect to be attacked.
The beginning and end of the race is a paced road. Uphill to begin with and down hill to end. There are division awards. (No awards for disabled athletes). This year it was a hat.
I loved this run and looking forward to participating in it next year.
