This was my first time running the Bidwell Classic. I didn't realize it until after I received the medal, but this year was the race's 41st year! No wonder it is appropriately titled, 'The Bidwell Classic". The course is a loop course that takes you two times around lower Bidwell park. The path is nice and wide which allows participants to easily pass one another as needed. The course was clearly marked and the aid stations were well stalked. One of my favorite things about this race was the scenery. A large portion of the race follows a meandering river through the park and is nicely covered by shade trees. I would highly recommend this race if you're looking for a smaller, local, flat-course race.

This was my first year participating in this event that benefits animal care and enrichment at the Sacramento Zoo and based upon how this year went, I hope to participate in this event in the future. The race was well organized, the course was well-marked, and there was plenty of water at the finish line. If I had any negative about this race, it would be in regards to the post-race food. Perhaps, however, there was minimal food to choose from since I waited for both of my friends to cross the finish line before heading over to see what was available. (One of my friends finished the 10k in 1:22:14 and I finished in 51:36.)

The course was an enjoyable, flat, shaded loop in which we ran twice. The race was accurately marked, included well-stocked aid stations, and had plenty of porta-potties at the start/finish line. Although there were no finisher medals, there were adorable stuffed zebras as the age group awards. ( I finished 5th in my age group missing an age group award by 26 seconds!... I guess I have to come back next year and run faster! ;) )

I highly recommend this race!

This was my first year participating in this event, but certainly will not be my last. Here's what the website has to say about the race, "Experience the beauty and tranquility of a Trail Less Traveled. Hidden in the foothills around Lake Oroville, the Kelly Ridge and Dan Beebe trails offer miles of twisting terrain to challenge runners of all levels and test seasoned trails fans. This 5K and Quarter Marathon always takes place the first Sunday in April (unless it falls on Easter Sunday)."

I've traveled to Lake Oroville to go boating, but never to run. I have done a few trail races before, but never one longer than 10 miles and never on these particular trails, so I did not know what to expect. This year, to add some variety into my running, I decided to sign up for a Under the Sun Events trail race series. This was race #3 in a 5 race series. After completing this run, my longest trail run to date, I was excited about the possibility of future trail races!

This race was small, only 33 participants in the 14 mile race, but still well organized, great t-shirts / medals, and well stocked / placed unmanned aid stations. Yes, that's right... the aid stations were simply tables with bottled water, snacks, and electrolyte drinks. If you needed to refill your hydration pack, you simply stopped at the table, refilled, and kept going.

Despite a few tough steep hills, I was able to finish 3rd overall female and 2nd in my age group! I highly recommend the Trail Less Traveled and hope to do this race again and again!

This was the third year of this race and the second year in which I've participated in this race. It is a small, local race with only 43 half marathon participants this year. With such a small race, however, it is still well-organized, is fun to participate in, and is a great community event! If there were to be any downside to this event, it would have to be the fact that 6 of the 13.1 miles are run on the gravel levee. The gravel is larger, thick gravel which can be quite challenging for a runner who is use to running on the pavement (such as myself). Overall, however, I'd recommend this race to all local runners!

This year I improved my course time by nearly 5 minutes and came is as third overall female finisher!

This was my first year to Run Rocklin and I was not disappointed! The race was well organized, the course well marked, and the aid stations well stocked! I, actually, had the privilege of pacing Run Rocklin with Beast Pacing. This was my first pacing gig and my first time running this race. I am happy to report that with the well laid out, accurate mileage I came in right on time! I'd highly recommend this race to others and hope to see you at the next race! You never know, you might be in my pacing group!
