If you're a local runner living in the San Francisco Bay Area, this race should definitely be in your race calendar. The weather is perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Newbie runners have a choice of one of two half marathons that occur on the same day, which I don't believe exists for any other race event. Veteran runners who have conquered half marathons and want to attempt a full marathon have the beautiful scenery of San Francisco to get them through the 26.2 mile challenge. Even if you're not local, this race is a good excuse to travel to San Francisco, and run on the Golden Gate Bridge. No other race I believe closes a portion of the Golden Gate Bridge lanes to ensure that a good amount of runners can run back and forth one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.
