This was my fourth year to run the Lucky Run in Davis. There is another popular St. Patrick's Day run in Sacramento in March, but each year I choose the Lucky Run! This year the Lucky Run happened to fall on my 32nd birthday. I was SO stoked to be running a half marathon on my birthday and I just knew that "the icing on the cake" would be to earn a new half marathon PR. I'm happy to report that yes, I earned a new half marathon PR by over 7 minutes!

I highly recommend the Lucky Run in Davis, California! The race is organized, is paced by the Golden Valley Harriers who do a fantastic job, the course is well marked, the aid stations are well-placed / well-stocked, and A Change of Pace Foundation does a great job timing the event. I truly can not say enough good things about this race!

I'm not that big into Superbowl Sunday, but nonetheless, my friend and I had a blast running this race. Race morning was organized. It was easy and convenient for us to pick up our bibs. The course was a nice out and back. We loved that the finish line was inside the stadium! The post race after party was awesome! Free food and lots of fun! I'd highly recommend this race to anyone who is looking for a fun 5k or 10k.

This was my first year running in the Super Sunday Run. From today's experience, however, I hope to run this race year after year. Parking was easily accessible, registration was well organized and easy to spot, there were plenty of porta potties, and the post race party was fantastic! I was surprised by how many people were at the race, but even with quite a few participants, the race was still fun and enjoyable! There's really not enough good to be said about the Super Sunday Run.

After crossing the finish line in the Sacramento State football stadium, we were able to pick up a banana, water bottle, and several different granola bars. There were also both alcoholic and non alcoholic beers made available. In the post-party room, there were hot dogs, potato wedges, cookies, and more beer all free!

The race's slogan is, "...Sacramento’s ticket to a guilt-free Super Bowl" and I agree! Run this race and then go enjoy your Super Bowl party guilt-free knowing that you just went for a run.

A small town race... less than 1,000 half marathon finishers. This was my first time completing this race and I would do it again! It was relatively flat, except for a few overpasses, and you had the option to get a long sleeve shirt instead of a tshirt! Best news of all, I got a PR at this race by about 5 minutes! I finally reached my goal of a sub two hour half marathon!

There were plenty of potties at the start / finish line, expected avg. minute/mile signs were clearly posted, and there were helpful pacers spaced out!

If I had anything to complain about it would be the fact that pre-registration took too long and wasn't well organized. Other than this, all in all it was a great race!

This was the second race in the Under the Sun Events trail race series. The first was Frost or Fog. This was my 13 year old daughter's first 5k in which she ran most of it. The rocks and incline at about mile two was a challenge and required me pushing her (literally), but she made it! This is a small race, but the shirts, medals, staff, volunteers, and post race food makes it fantastic! I highly recommend everyone to check out Love on the Rocks!
