I have created a running website named www.askrunguy.com based on having run over 100 half marathons, including all fifty US states and several other countries; and several full marathons, with a goal of running all six World Major marathons. Below is a template for comments for my rating each race:

Race: Whistle-stop Marathon 2014 (Ashland, WI)
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): gravel road – previous railroad bed
Organization (Size, Expo, volunteers, start / finish): Very good for a very small race. Less than 1,000 finishers. Local community does a nice job with expo and aid stations along the course
Support (fans, music on course): It is hard for fans to get to the course, but the support was pretty good at aid stations.
Course Scenery: Nice scenery. Tree covered gravel roads along old railroad bed. Very quiet and peaceful
Course Difficulty: very flat and easy. Net downhill just a little bit. Good course for personal record target. My PR is here.
Weather / Temperature: in 2014 weather was perfect. About 35 degrees F at start, rising to about 55 at end. No rain or wind.
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): There are a few things to do in this community. Viewing Lake Superior, and a beer tasting and local music party afterward.
Logistics (Getting to the race site): A bit challenging. Is about 1 hour east of Duluth, MN
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): Finisher shirts or jackets are nice. Age group winners get nice wooden train whistles
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Food and drink on course is fine, and post-race food was very plentiful and quite good.
