While this race occurred on a very warm day, I had a great race and an excellent time. I was particularly impressed in the Expo, aid stations, post-race area and volunteers. The race management team did a great job of managing and providing for the race of over 40,000 runners.

The warm weather kept me from a PR, but this course is flat and fast, and is a good target for a PR if the weather and your training cooperates.

I have created a running website named www.askrunguy.com based on having run over 100 half marathons, including all fifty US states and several other countries; and several full marathons, with a goal of running all six World Major marathons. Below is a template for comments for my rating each race:

Race: Monster Dash Half Marathon 2017 Minneapolis, MN
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): paved roads and neighborhoods in Minneapolis, MN
Organization (Expo, volunteers, start / finish): Excellent. Well organized.
Support (fans, music on course): fairly good, but limited, support on the course.
Course Scenery: Pretty plain
Course Difficulty: Moderate. Some challenging rolling hills. Net downhill course. Good for a PR
Weather / Temperature: Usually pretty cool to cold Late Oct in Minnesota
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Some fun things to do and see around Minneapolis and St Paul
Logistics (Getting to the race site): Close to Minneapolis airport
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): nice medal and finisher shirt

I provide running and racing resources for all levels of runners at www.askrunguy.com. I also share information that I believe is interesting and helpful to the running community. I encourage you to visit www.askrunguy.com

This was a fun race, but challenging due to jet lag from flying from US.

I was surprised that they didn't really have an expo to speak of, given it was a Rock & Roll race.

The actual course was fun but challenging - running through much of the city of Dublin, along the Liffey, and finishing in a pretty park outside of Dublin.

I enjoyed the people of Dublin a lot, and they seemed to be helpful and friendly.

The last few miles were uphill, which was surprising. There were lots of accompanying shorter races for family members, which was a nice way for them to be included.
