I have created a running website named www.askrunguy.com based on having run over 100 half marathons, including all fifty US states and several other countries; and several full marathons, with a goal of running all six World Major marathons. Below is a template for comments for my rating each race:

Race: Polar Dash Half Marathon 2012 Minneapolis, MN
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): paved roads and neighborhoods in Minneapolis, MN
Organization (Expo, volunteers, start / finish): Excellent. Well organized.
Support (fans, music on course): fairly good, but limited, support on the course.
Course Scenery: Pretty plain
Course Difficulty: Moderate. Some challenging rolling hills.
Weather / Temperature: Usually pretty cool to cold winter in Minnesota
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Some fun things to do and see around Minneapolis and St Paul
Logistics (Getting to the race site): Close to Minneapolis airport
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): nice medal and finisher shirt
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Food and drink on course is fine, and refreshments provided afterward were limited

Race: 13.1 Series Half marathon 2011 (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): mostly along the Atlantic Ocean in Ft. Lauderdale
Organization (Expo, volunteers, start / finish): Good volunteers. Fun party at end with beer and Latin bikini dancers.
Support (fans, music on course: Great Latin music at the end
Course Scenery: Nice views of ocean, palm trees, large ships and yachts
Course Difficulty: Fairly flat and easy, quite windy for whole race
Weather / Temperature: Pretty warm and humid
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Lots of beach related things to see and do
Logistics (Getting to the race site): Easy from local airport
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): Nice medal – very generic, plain shirt
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Food and drink on course was very good.

Race: Baltimore Run Fest Half Marathon 2011 Baltimore, MD
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): paved roads around Baltimore, MD city center
Organization (Size, Expo, volunteers, start / finish): fairly large expo and race overall
Support (fans, music on course): Pretty good fan support and music
Course Scenery: some nice views of Baltimore and the bay.
Course Difficulty: pretty flat and easy
Weather / Temperature: nice weather - a bit warm by the end
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Nice visiting Baltimore sights, including ships, fishing etc by harbor
Logistics (Getting to the race site): Easy access via Baltimore airport
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): Very nice medal and shirt. Crab theme medal
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Decent food and drink on course and after race.

Race: Atlantic City Half Marathon 2011 (Atlantic City, NJ)
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): paved roads around Atlantic City, finish along a long boardwalk by the ocean
Organization (Size, Expo, volunteers, start / finish): . decent expo and organization, volunteers
Support (fans, music on course): pretty good support. A bit tricky in that runners and locals including bikers shared the boardwalk. Dangerous
Course Scenery: The parts running along Atlantic Ocean were very nice
Course Difficulty: pretty flat and easy.
Weather / Temperature: fairly nice weather. Pretty windy along the ocean
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Atlantic City ocean / beach, casinos and tourist stops
Logistics (Getting to the race site): easy from airports that are close
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): Nice long sleeved shirt and medal
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Sufficient food and drink during and after race

Race: Shamrock half marathon 2011 Virginia Beach, VA
Race Type / Terrain (road, trail): paved roads around Virginia Beach; finish on boardwalk right along Atlantic ocean
Organization (Expo, volunteers, start / finish): Great expo!, Strong fan support
Support (fans, music on course): Good support on the course
Course Scenery: Outstanding scenery – one of the most beautiful races to run: parks, forest, then ocean
Course Difficulty: Pretty flat; not too difficult
Weather / Temperature: Pretty cool at race time to begin the race
Course location recreation (sights, things to do): Lots of things to do around the ocean and beach
Logistics (Getting to the race site): easy access via airports fairly close
Swag (medal, t-shirt, other items for finishers): Wonderful shirt and medal – Shamrock / St. Patrick’s Day theme
Food and drink (on course and after finish): Superb. Large party tent with great food and Yuengling beer!
