This was my very first race – a 5K in my hometown back in 2010 after completing Couch to 5K. For that reason, it'll be one of my very favorite races. This is a small-ish race (I think 600-800 people annually), and it's a flat, fast USATF course on an airport tarmac. Because of this, it's not the most scenic of races. It's an easy race to get to, though, and there are plenty of grassy spots along the tarmac for friends and family to cheer you on. Everyone is friendly, and packet pick-up on the day of was easy. The only tough part is that sometimes Rochester weather in June can be unpredictable – hot, chilly, rainy, who knows.
