This is my second year to participate in the Tupelo Half Marathon. It is a smaller race but the awesome medal and traditional skull t-shirt design is by far the reason that keeps me coming back! The race moto is "Trample the weak, hurdle the dead" and if you have ever ran this race you know exactly what I mean. The course is full of rolling hills and the course starts at the convention center with plenty of parking. It takes you downtown then through quiet neighborhoods, by golf courses and brings you back to the convention center where the finish line is inside. If you do the full be prepared to do the same route twice. Tupelo is a great town and the organizers do a fantastic job putting it all together. The crowd support isn't there other than family, but then again the race is on Labor Day weekend in the Mississippi heat and it starts at 5:00 AM! Which you will be glad to get up for and be finished before it gets too hot! There really is not expo, you pick up your packet at the local running store and this year they moved to a bigger and better store. If you are interested in this race, make sure to sign up early, THEY DO SELL OUT, sometimes months in advance. Want a challenge to jump start your fall racing this is the race you need to consider. I have a full review on my blog at http://www.misssippipiddlin.com/tupelo-half-marathon-2015/ would love for you to check it out!

I enjoyed this race. I won my entry but paid fees were very reasonable. Race day was very well organized, parking was no problem, right across the street from the amphitheater, morning-of packet pickup was great as I was not able to attend the expo. The course was I'd say in the medium range. Rolling hills. I did not enjoy the very steep down hill around mile 12 near the river. For me it was too steep. This was my first time racing it and their third time putting it on. I believe the course was ran in reverse from the previous year which made for a more difficult hilly course. I hope they stick with this course. I loved running through the University of Alabama campus it really is a beautiful place. Even though I'm not a die hard Bama fan I would even be disappointed if this race was not bama themed. The medals this year did infact represent bama well with houndstooth print, an elephant and the crimson ribbon. After race food was sponsored by Jim n Nicks BBQ and Chick-Fil-A had cookies. There were many sponsors but I remembered these mostly. They also had your fruits, bananas oranges I believe, plenty of water gatorade and Chocolate Milk, my favorite! They had 4 tables where race participants could get massages. I am really liking this service race producers provide. I'd also like to note the professional photos were taken by Sports in Motion and I thought they did a good job of placement of their photographers on the course, one was at the end of a bridge near the river, I loved this one! They also provided after race photos as well. I was very happy with the way my photos came out, which is unusual. I would recommend this race again!

This was my first time racing here. I was worried driving around seeing all the hills but actually they are pretty good hills. Not too steep and your always rewarded on the other side. It is a lot of hills but it keeps your pushing and pulling muscles working. I liked the fact that the post race activities were inside and I loved that they had free massages too. That was a real treat an I hope they continue to do it. The route went by several beautiful parks and churches. The medal is just awesone too!! I hope to be able to do this race again.

This race is very well put on and organized for the amount of participants. The packet pickup is quick and expo has a lot of vendors. Your sure to find something there you can't go without. The corrals work nice for the start of the race and I enjoy the course. The city really turns out and supports this race which is a big plus in my book. The after party is full of food and drinks and is held in City Park, a very spacious beautiful park. The busses take you back to the starting line pretty quickly. I've done this race twice and already signed up for 2016.
