This race only costs $25 and it's a steal! You get to run through downtown Racine, Wisconsin, then through the zoo and up to Wind Point. At Wind Point you get a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. This is a great race to PR. Then at the end there are tons of snacks and beverages, including all you can drink beer for those over 21. They also have a 4 mile race, a kid's race, and a mascot race.

Right off the bat this race was very difficult to find the gear check and start line. It was in a very random spot in Chicago. Then I tried to use the bathroom before the race but after waiting 20 minutes in line for a port-o-potty I gave up so I wouldn't miss the start. I would have been in line at least another 10 minutes. The first 7 miles of the race were actually pretty nice and the water stops were managed well. However, I did not like how much I had to swerve on the lakefront path. There were too many pedestrians out on a stroll as well as running into the walkers for the 6k the last 3 miles of the race. I probably could have dropped another minute off my time if it weren't for that. Also, the finish line was back by the gear check and not on lakefront path. This caused much confusion for the runners at the final stretch of the race. I think in the end this is a very family friendly race but not a great race if you are trying to get a PR.

This race was run well and had some great goodies given in your pick up packet as well as after the race. There was great support at the aid stations with plenty of food/ hydration options to chose from. The race was well laid out and organized. After the race the finishers area had a lot of perks too including and ice bath area, picture area and food and beverages. Can't wait to do this race again!

I've done the half marathon for several years and finally decided to give the full marathon a chance. The town support was great and the race is very well run. However, the first half feels completely different from the 2nd half. The second half is more secluded, little crowd support and partially on gravel. This is still a beautiful race but a hard one to train for.
