I ran this race in 2015 with my husband. I was 5 months postpartum with my first kid and looking forward to getting back to races. Caesar Rodney was a GREAT race to get back into it. It was small as they are still building their racers, but they were so organized and courteous. The first half of the course had some rolling hills but the SECOND part- HILLY! I was challenged a lot by this course but in the best way possible. The course even ends on an uphill LOL! The race had a great location and paid attention to detail. It’s been 4 years and I still wear the tech shirt proudly on my rotation of swag.

You would think a city like Nashville would appear to be flat, but talk about non stop rolling hills! The scenery was amazing as you go through downtown and around the Titans stadium. You also go down music row where so many country music stars have recorded and/or been signed on labels. If you’re into country music you will appreciate that part. Parking is difficult in any city so I didn’t give great marks there, but that’s typical for Nashville. It might not be the favorite for this city as far as a race goes, but I don’t have anything overly negative to add.

Travelling into Washington, DC is going to be difficult regardless of what you are there for. I gave the parking low ratings but truly that is not the race's fault. I ended up parking near the Armory where they have packet pickup and took the VERY easy Metro in to the Pentagon station. You have to be patient as this race is HUGE. So many people! So arrive early and bring some extra snacks and plan your bathroom break proactively. The race is fantastic though. So patriotic and you pass so many monuments along the way. Fast and flat course to boot! Would love to go back and do this one again.
