I've heard their not bringing this back and it's a good thing. T shirt was cute but no expo and they ran out of bling, expensive for what you get and besides the course being beautiful and you do get a tiny small Tiffany necklace, I would never do this again. The finish was a hot mess and waiting in line for pics with the firefighters was just too much. Never again

City to the Sea has been going on in San Luis Obispo California for 18 plus years and I've run quite a few of those years. It benefits the Cuesta College Track Team and is very well run with a nice course. It's a point to point so you either get picked up at the finish or shuttle back to town. The expo is small but well run and at Running Warehouse, an online running store which is located in SLO. They have great deals on shoes the whole weekend and it is a good time to stock up. The course starts in SLO and goes down our main drag to a frontage road and then ends in Shell Beach. A beautiful fun and easy course, some spectators, plenty of port a potties and fuel. First Aid is epic as it can be hot (remember to hydrate) but our local first responders are there to help. The race ends on a bluff overlooking the ocean and the after race food and events are fun. Easy shuttle back or family/friends can pick up. Make a weekend out of it, it's when we have our best weather

As a local, I've seen this race grow. It's now in its fifth year and I've done both the full and half. Very well organized expo with 2015 offering Stephanie and Ben Bruce as elite pro athlete speakers. This was amazing and they were accessible and kind. The expo offers all kinds of sellers and deals, some freebies and the event and parking were smooth. The course is gorgeous and hilly, but with just the right amount of hills. The views are stunning and the finish line has crowds galore with a well run finish day event. Easy parking for spectators and worth the price. Great place to visit or vacation so make a weekend out of it

After years of racing every other distance, I finally did a marathon. I'm so glad I chose this one as my first as it is so well run and the course is stunningly beautiful. Expo was full of free goodies and great deals, each year they have pros as speakers and the parking is easy. The course for the marathon has plenty of port a potties, aid stations and drinks and Gu. The course itself takes you through wine country and the views are so gorgeous, easy to forget you're running a marathon. Hills are part of the course but none too bad. Prepare for them and a wind. The finish is at Madonna Inn and there's plenty of room for spectators and friends to watch you cross the finish line. The photos were good and available quickly as was my official time. Plenty of parking and I would highly recommend.
