I thought this one would be another corporate juggernaut race, but man it was awesome! I loved it! It was the 1st year downtown, course had lots of turns and hills which made it go by fast. The swag as most know is the best you get a hat, sweatshirt, medal, and free goodies at the end. Very well organized. I snagged 2nd in 1:00:18 and got a pretty cool trophy thing. The medal is awesome too, it's a chocolate bar!! (see picture) Highly recommend, I would definitely do this one again. It's worth it!

If you're in AZ over Thanksgiving or a local here looking for a decent Turkey Trot this is a pretty darn good one. It's a cool distance, 10 miles, and pretty flat, so you can make some damage! You get a very nice long sleeve shirt, and the awards go pretty deep, 3 in each, and top 3 overall for a free pie of choice! And you get a medal. Course was not my favorite, lots of bike path and I'm a roadie. I walked away with close to a PR 1:04:52 I think, it's competitive field too which makes it fun.

There are a million reviews here already for Chicago, so I will try to say what others haven't. I think it's the best major out there in regards to crowd support, course ability to really run FAST, and organization. I cannot say enough about this race, I love it so much, just wasn't my day...ended up laying an egg and running 2:58, but I will be back someday as I know I can do better. If you are waffling about this one _ DO IT _ the whole city embraces you, it's not a big city hassle, but it's a big city marathon, and a great field.

This race is pretty decent, it's not Chicago's best course, but it is flat and fast. The shirt is cool -every school gets their own, which in and of itself is fun. It's really well organized, lots of trash talking day of....I wouldn't do this if you are super competitive looking for a fast time, the start is just too narrow and crowded, even for the elites. I scrapped out a 38:59 for 11th OA and 2nd in my AG, so it's pretty competitive. Everyone gets a really cool medal, and if you place in your AG, a mini football! We had fun, probably wouldn't travel to do it again though.

Probably one of my all time favorite races, it was a bucket list race so decided to make it my comeback race, and it delivered! The town is awesome, everyone gets behind it, friendliest people you will ever meet. T-shirt is less then desirable but whatever ;) Free race pictures. Course is EPIC, super hilly and curvy, all roads, very tough, but I loved it. I think I was 4th OA in 47:44, got a cool special medal mailed it me afterwards which was nice. All in all I am a huge fan! I attached a picture of the pain of me going up Doomsday - it's a killer!
