If you’re looking to do a local relay race this is the one for you! Create your team of 6 runners and starting at 6am the teams are off. You do supply everything within your team. So you will need a van (one team had an RV… genius!) a cooler with food and anything else you could think of. As a team decide how you want to break the miles up. Some teams people ran 1 mile then switched. Other teams ran a few and switched. The goal is to be the first team to the Sanibel bridge and back.
I had a blast doing this with my team. We finished third and I was super proud of our effort. The only craziness was the construction in fort myers beach (that to this day is still going on!) You drive ahead a pull over waiting for your runner and switch runners. Overall a fun experience that I would definitely do again. Plus the jacket is nice and lightweight for SWFL and we got a cool shell with gulf to gulf 80 on it as a “medal.”

The best half marathon in the area hands down. Gulf Coast Runners truly does an amazing job with this race. The management is great along with aid/water/volunteers on the course. The course itself is as flat as they come. This is definitely a PR course!

The bling is always cute and awards are big for a local race since it pulls in high quality runners from around the world. Definitely a must do if you are local or a great racecation!
