What better way to start Thanksgiving day then with a 5K! This race is on a flat shaded course so it’s perfect for the whole family to get some miles in before eating all the yummies!
This race is a family tradition for myself. Even the kids run with us as it is super family/stroller friendly. People even dress up to run so I feel like I’m at a runDisney race!
There is a cute medal and of course pumpkin pie at the end. They have someone dressed up as a turkey taking pictures and prizes for all the speedy runners. This race is one I look forward to every year!

The Dopey Challenge. You have to be a special kind of runner to take on this challenge, like me! Haha! 4 days of running. 4 3am wake up calls. 48.6 magical miles. 5K, 10K, half and full marathon. It was such a bucket list experience. I told myself it was a one and done. Here I am though planning to do it again in 2023! Disney races are truly like no other. The crowds, the course, the magic. I am hoping races post covid haven’t lost that. We will find out shortly with wine and dine in person race next month. I may not run fast, but I run with heart for all the people that can’t!

A fun Halloween race! I love this race because they encourage runners to dress up and have a prize for the best dressed! So come run with all the other goblins and ghosts for a fun 5K. It is a 2 loop course that is shaded on the back side. Family/stroller friendly and run with amazing support as all GCR events. Water stations and cheer support throughout the course. Last time I ran this race pregnant and had so much fun. I can’t wait to run it this year with my family!
Parking is easy access at the park or the mall across the street. The medals and shirts are super cute. Some years they even have a free kids race. A nice race if you’re local and looking for something fun!

The perfect Florida 10K. A flat and fast course. A small down and back for part of it on shell, but nothing crazy. The scenery if beautiful and people are friendly. I only wish there was more shade. For slower runners like myself if it isn’t a cloudy day, make sure you have a hat! The sun will definitely get you. Overall great experience that I look forward to doing again!

I absolutely love this 10K race! It is a small local race that you can truly feel the heart of the community. We run for youth music programs and the kids even play along the course! It is flat and shaded. The course support is great with water stations as are all Gulf Coast Runners events. I look forward to doing it every year! The only years I haven’t raced are ones where I birthed my children because I wasn’t back to racing yet. The course is stroller friendly for other mother runners. I can’t wait to run with my kids in a double this coming year!
