This is a local race for me so we had a whole group from our moms running club doing it! what a beautiful start with all the hot air balloons taking off at sunrise! This year was a hot hot day, so well organized with ice chest along the way to cool us down, the fire company had the hose running to cool us off. The local Amish community helped with the aide stations with the little kids cheering us on! A good way to support the local community, a one of a kind hand made Horse shoe medal and I earned my "Road Apple" award since I had done the "garden spot village half" in April. Fantastic food spread after the race!

City of Brotherly love did not disappoint! A great choice for a first marathon! The first half flew by with the energy and crowd support through the city, Then it was a quiet till we hit Manayunk, where the energy picked up. The last 6 miles was back again on Kelly drive and seemed to go on forever, but with a large race never seemed alone! Overall Great organization at a big city large race! Many aide stations with some having energy gels. A great finish back at Eakins oval and you can go get a picture with the Rocky statue! mostly flat with a few hills in the city area. basic post race refreshments and a gorgeous medal!
