Inaugral race for a local race director. breathtaking scenery, same course as the vacation races Rockies. No expo , just packet pick up. Hubby registered last minute purely based on how beautiful it was there. Picked this race since we were going to the area anyway and I could cross of Colorado. Had to walk a lot since running at altitude was very hard on my breathing. Only about 150 participants, friendly race director was open to all suggestions. hope this race will survive coming back again! A really nice after party, a kids race after and everyone just hung around taking in the scenery and cheering for the all the racers!

State #8 ✅ great time at Indy mini marathon, even though it was pouring down the entire time. Miles 6-8 inside the Indianapolis motor speedway was awesome, this was extra special to me since my dad was a race car driver in South Asia! One of the best expos I've been to and I loved taking all the pictures at with the race cars at the expo and after the race! The course had some parts that were blah, but running the Indy 500 track made up for it, at least for me. Totally appreciated the bands and cheer zones that came out even in the torrential rain! If not for the total downpour the after party would have been an awesome place to hang out! I stayed at the partner hotel, so the race was right outside the lobby which was great, swag included a hat along with a really nice long sleeve t-shirt and beautiful medal!

Another girls trip and Savannah is perfect for that! The expo was boutique style, had free drink sample. The swag did not have a t-shirt but we got a gym bag instead, there was race merchandise to buy and I got myself a t-shirt. The free race pictures a definite plus! We stayed at an airbnb which was right at Forsyth park and start line was maybe 200 feet away. Coming from east coast, early April in GA felt warm, the 90% humidity did not help. The course was lovely, the medal was beautiful but the race did not go too well for me. After 4 miles I had to slow down, mile 7 got a major calf cramp and had to run/walk the rest. Was annoyed that the first Gatorade station was not until 6.5 miles. Not what I was hoping for a flat race, but just wasn't a good day for me! Many Runners did enjoy the course and loved the experience.

The Best race ever!! nothing like running through time square, so much energy!! Expo was smaller than expected, a long line to actually get in. we just got our packets and left for dinner. I had joined the FB group for the admin organized a bus to takes us from Manhattan to Brooklyn which was the best. Got to the start village with plenty of time. When our corral was called we went over and they close the corral and we had to wait about 45 minutes to start, downside to that no potty in there (thankfully I was warned) so make sure go before entering corral. The course starts out with a big hill and the Manhattan Bridge hill seemed never ending. After that miles 5 onwards till inside central park was quite flat or hills were insignificant. The crowds participating and cheering on was epic, started in Brooklyn ran on Manhattan bridge and finished in iconic Central Park (it was hilly). I love NYC so I was just so exited that I got in through the lottery to run in this amazing city and best part with my hubby too!

First Rock 'n' Roll for me and crossing off Illinois! Expo was vast, took lots of pictures and got some merchandise. Stayed at a hotel close to start line so it was a quick walk in the morning. Being a July race it was muggy when we started, but then started to rain with a total downpour at times which was I think better than running in humidity and heat. The course was very flat, but the bridges got a bit slippery. The Blue mile was to remember fallen heroes was a surprise and very emotional. Running through the city along famous landmarks was great, downside of big city running was the GPS was all messed up so pacing was a bit off for me. Aide station had water, Gatorade and one had gel. For a Rock 'n' roll didn't have as many bands, could be because of the weather that day. I did not stay for the after party so not sure how that went. walked past the "Bean" after for a photo opp which was nice!
