I run this every year, but only because the finish line is literally 2 miles from my home. The scenery is lack-luster (the streets of Newport News aren't the prettiest). The finish line/after party is on the water, which is pretty and all, but freezing as the race is in March. I always have done the relay (legs 1 & 2) and the transportation is not great. I don't like that I have to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn in order to get on the bus to the starting line, and the buses that take me back to the finish line take forever; one year a bunch of us got off and walked and I think we made it back faster that way, and another year we were all dropped off completely far away from the finish line.

The expo was super fun, the biggest I've ever seen! The starting line and finish line were both very well organized. I love how everyone in town comes out to support and even sets up their own "aid" stations (I might have had a few sips of Bud Light). The only downfall is that September in Virginia Beach is HOT and HUMID!!! Be prepared!
