I was really looking forward to doing this race, but sadly COVID hit just a few weeks prior and it was cancelled. However, the communication was amazing and all of my goodies were mailed to me promptly! I still did the half race as a virtual (gotta earn that swag, which there was PLENTY of) and definitely hope to do it IRL one day.

I had a great time! The magic of Disney sure did help me power through all 26.2 miles. However, this is NOT the race to try for a PR. Due to the amount of walkers and cell phone photographers, I couldn't get to a runners pace until after 3 miles in. It was quite frustrating. My only other complaint was having to get up at the buttcrack of dawn to get to the starting line, but I don't see that changing anytime soon. Other than that, I loooooooved this run and would totally do it again!

Right alongside the water, it was a great run. Very easy and laid-back. It would have been nice to have run on a trail that was closed off to recreational runner/bikers/walkers (there was a lot of dodging them), but the post-race party was great. I even got a bonus shirt! And a huge shout out to the MC at the starting line... he really knew how to pump up a crowd!!!

I've always heard of these Hot Chocolate runs but was never close by to do one, until now! I immediately signed up and am so glad I did. I love Denver so running through downtown as well as the cute little nearby neighborhoods was just amazing. The hat and jacket were wonderful! Much better than a shirt. And did I mention the CHOCOLATE at the end?!

My first marathon, so my opinion might be wonky, haha! The scenery was pretty hit-or-miss (either you're running through a gorgeous wooded trail, or you alongside a busy road) and the after party was a little boring, but I love how the whole town comes out to cheer you on! I'd do it again... if it were a shorter distance ;)
