Disclaimer: I received an entry to the Savannah Women's Half Marathon to review as a part of being a Bibrave/Vibe Ambassador.

This was year 10 for the Savannah Women's Half Marathon and I was so excited to be running the race! I had heard about it from several friends, who all raved about it. Let's start with the expo. It was the day before the race and gave runners all day and evening to pick up the shirt, bib, and a really nice zippered crossbody bag with the race name embroidered on it. There were several vendors there, some selling products like apparel and shoes, others were running-related services like chiropractors and sports therapists. It was a nice day out and I saw some people sitting in the lawn in the back enjoying the nice weather. I liked the design on the race shirt but was a bit disappointed to learn they had already given away all of their size small, despite having 3 more hours to go, so I was given a medium. Not a big deal but not ideal.
Race morning was ideal for racing with clear skies with temps in the upper 40's at race start. Corrals were arranged by pace but were dependent on runners actually arranging themselves in the correct area, which unfortunately doesn't always happen. Still, the announcer did a good job of giving a bit of space between groups by staggering the starts slightly so the course wasn't too crowded in the first miles like at some races. Although the adult 5k started at the same time as the half marathon, the Girls on the Run 5k started after the half marathon.
There were plenty of porta pots and first aid stations throughout the course, likewise there was plenty of water and electrolytes on the course. Where appropriate, roads were closed and/or monitored by volunteers or police officers. The course truly did highlight the most scenic parts of Savannah and wound around a couple of parks and finished at famous Forsyth Park, going by the fountain first. The entire course seemed pancake flat to me.
At the finish line, there were volunteers handing out medals that looked like the famous Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, water bottles, and a clear plastic bag with fruit, a fruit and grain bar, and chocolate milk. We had 2 tickets for beer on our race bib. The grassy area of the park was filled with runners and areas for runners like the VIP area, gear check, beer, and more, plus there was a band playing on a stage that was really good. It was a sunny day and many people were hanging out with friends chatting about the race.
I found the race well-organized and highly recommend it.

Previously, I knew several runners who had run this race and they all raved about it so I finally signed up for the 2023 race. Now I see what the hype is about. It's well-organized, from packet pickup at the expo, to the course and all of the volunteers, to the finish and party afterwards. Everything is well-planned to minimize headache and maximize the experience for the runner. Since it is a large race, it does get crowded at times on the course, but there are waves to help alleviate this so it's not too bad. The course is scenic and I would say a bit challenging with some moderate but short hills. The aid stations were awesome with plenty of volunteers handing out water, Nuun, junk food like gummy bears and even beer. I enjoyed the music along the course and especially all of the spectators. I've never ran a race with so much crowd support, I guess this is why it's called the friendliest race. I personally loved the downhill finish and didn't find it too steep but some friends of mine said they thought it was too steep. I say, don't change a thing. It's perfect just like it is! The blanket and hat at the finish were a nice perk along with the hefty medal. The pizza and beer were just icing on the cake at the finish.

I loved everything about this race and that's saying a lot because it was my 51st half marathon in my 49th state. It was well-organized, the pre-race communication from the race director was helpful, the expo was like pre-pandemic expos and easy to get to, the pullover was fantastic, the course was along some of the highlights of Des Moines and extremely flat with one very minor rise in elevation towards the end, volunteers were out in full force, spectators were all over the course, the post-race food (BBQ sandwiches, bananas, cookies, chocolate protein drink, Gatorade, water, plus packaged snack boxes) was great, medals were nice, and the post-race field with alcoholic drinks and bands was the icing on the cake.

I loved everything about this race! It was well-organized so despite being the largest 10k in the US (in the world?), because of the corrals, it wasn't crowded on the course. The expo was large and there were plenty of extras for anyone who wanted to partake. I took the MARTA everywhere including to/from this race and that was good (much better than trying to drive from my hotel). I felt like I was flying on the course and didn't even mind the hills we encountered. This was definitely one of the most fun races I've run and not surprisingly my fastest 10k ever (I always run faster when I'm having fun). Medals were optional and I didn't buy one but was having a bit of FOMO when I saw them at the race. Post-race food and drink was a bit on the sparse side but we were still in the midst of covid so I'm sure that's why. I highly recommend this race.

I loved everything about this race. It began at the top of a canyon and we ran down it for the first several miles. It wasn't so steep that my quads felt the drop in elevation, however. It's a small race in a small town, so there isn't much SWAG or many spectators along the course. Most of the course was along quiet country roads which I found peaceful. I highly recommend this race if you're looking for a small half marathon in Wyoming.
