I ran the Disney Wine and Dine half marathon this past weekend, held on 11/5/17 and LOVED this race!
EXPO: The expo was held at the Wide World of Sports, and was easy. I picked up my bib and long sleeve tech tee shirt with no problem. They had official runDisney merchandise in one area, while other vendor merchandise was in another building.
RACE: The race began in the early morning at 5:30 so the first few miles were in the dark. I stayed onsite at a Disney resort hotel, which provided free bus transportation to the start. The staging area was good, except that the lines for bathrooms were LONG. I was in Corral A and had to ask some kind runners to let me cut in line so I didn't miss my start. The weather was a little warm and humid this year, but nothing terrible. The race ran through three different parks: Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. Running through the parks is SO fun! Between the parks there are some boring highway miles, but Disney provides lots of entertainment with characters and music along the way. Water stops were plentiful and well stocked. The finish line celebration is fun with a great medal, a snack box (not great food unfortunately), a Dr. Cool cooling towel, fluids, and food/beverage to purchase. I was able to easily hop onto a bus back to my resort with very little wait. I ended up with a large number of quality race photos through Disney's Photo Pass service.
OVERALL: I always love Disney races, but this one is a new favorite. I loved the fun atmosphere! I was not able to attend the post-race party in Epcot, but that seems like a great benefit for Wine & Dine racers that I hope to attend in the future!

This was my second time running this beautiful half marathon. I am local, and the logistics of this race could not be easier. Packet pickup is a breeze, and you get a really nice tech shirt and bag with the race logo. There is no "expo", but there is a nice farmer's market going on across the street. On race morning, I could roll in pretty close to the start with no worries whatsoever about parking. Such a nice change from big races when you need to get there early! The weather this year was gorgeous, sunny and not too warm. Here are some high and low points:

PROS:
-Truly, the most beautiful scenery around. Every mile is gorgeous!
-Organization: the director and volunteers clearly put their hearts into this race. The RD hugs every runner at the finish line!
-Logistics: SO easy! This is a small race in a laid back town.
-Swag: nice shirt, great post-race food
-Course: Not a PR course, but the hills are fun if you like a challenge. Much respect to anyone that manages a full marathon on those hills! It is a mix of paved and dirt roads.

CONS:
-Age group awards: I realize this might be me being picky, but the age group awards for the half seemed to be the finisher's medals from the full marathon. I completely understand that not all races have the funds or capacity for place-specific awards, but if you are going to offer awards, maybe something a little more special (even a mug, anything?).
-The start: there were insufficient portapotties at the start (really long lines), and I believe that the race started a few minutes early this year so people were caught off guard or still standing in line for the bathroom.

Overall, I love this race and the beautiful course so I will continue to return. It is a great challenge and a nice option for a July half or full marathon. The race has so much positive energy. People really seem to be happy to be there running (and same goes for the spectators!).

"Great energy from the city of Burlington"

I have run this race several times: the full (x2) and the relay (x2). This is a "big" race for Vermont, with a few thousand marathoners, and a 2 person and a 3-5 person relay that runs alongside the full. It occurs over Memorial Day weekend. The course is fair with one big hill around mile 15 and mostly rolling terrain otherwise.

Pros:
-Shamrock-style course is very spectator friendly
-The city of Burlington really comes out to support this race
-Neighborhoods are amazing and set up their own cheer and aid stations
-Sections of the course are very beautiful
-Well-organized staff and volunteers, good swag

Cons:
-The weather is very iffy. I have run it when it was rainy and cold, but more often than not it can be hot/humid. The race was black flagged due to heat in 2016.
-Portions of the course are pretty dull, but the neighborhood spectators make up for it!
-When running the full, I don't love running with the relay because mentally it can be tough having fresh relay runners blow past you, and it can feel congested in narrow portions.

OVERALL: I will continue to come back to this race since I am local. It is a fun race and definitely worth doing, but maybe not a PR race depending on weather.

"Basic early season half marathon"

This race is billed as a "no frills" race. It is affordably priced and is one of the few early spring half marathons that you can find in northern New England. This is a point to point race that is mostly run on a flat bike path. Two waves of ~900 runners are offered.

Expo: None
Swag: None (no medal/shirt)
Transportation: Great bus transportation to the starting line, and from the finish to a parking area
Packet pickup: Loved the easy race-day pickup
Course: Not super scenic, but a nice flat course
Other amenities: Chip timing, water stations, photography, port a potties. Also food/beer at the end.
Weather: Can be cold in early April, especially for Wave 1.

Overall, this is an understandably popular local option for a spring tuneup race.

I love the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! I have run the half (2016) and the full (2017), and am returning in 2018 for the full again. I love the race so much that I hope to make it an annual tradition! Disney races are seamless and a ton of fun! My favorite part about this race is that Disney is really about celebrating the fun of running and welcomes runners of all speeds.
The course is flat with great entertainment along the way - you run through parks and characters or other entertainment is set up along the way so no stretches feel boring. The marathon course goes through all of the parks and starts/finishes at Epcot. The swag is my favorite of any race I've done.
The only con that I can think of is the very early morning start at 5:30, with a required arrival time well before that to get to the start and through security. However, the early start helps to avoid any warm weather.
My biggest tip is to stay on site on a Disney property, which makes logistics and race day transportation very easy. It is awesome to be able to head back to your room after the race for a shower and a nap before hitting the parks for the rest of the day! Also, be sure to submit a proof of time to avoid placement in one of the last corrals.
