Expo - There is no expo or packet pickup. Racers pick up bib and shirt day of by showing ID at registration tables. All went smooth there.

Swag - The shirts are super soft and great fit. The ladies shirt are a slim fit with a V-neck and very cute. It is an actual shirt that I will wear casually. The medal is nice, not too heavy and solid ribbon. It is one that will be added to my growing collection.

Aid Stations - This got a four because I believe that they could have had a medical rep at each water station (there were two). This course is tough and people get hurt. Water stations were great and set up at Miles 1 & 2. They did not care how many glasses of water runners took and kept refilling. There is a full first aid tent at the finish.

Course Scenery - This is held at the International Horse Park so the scenery is very wooded and nice. Made it great for running in August as the trees provided a nice shade.

Elevation - Holy hill!!!! There is a massive hill on this course that comes after many difficult obstacles. It is a very tough one to get up as I believe it is a 3/4 of a mile climb. People were taking breaks off to the side, etc., so be prepared for the hill work here.

Parking - One can get in another mile plus with walking to and from the race to the car. Parking Is no where close to the start of the race so be prepared for about a mile walk to get to the race. Parking was $10 per car which I never like to pay for parking with an event like this but it is standard, no matter what I like. For $10 with parking, I would like to be closer to the starting line though.

Obstacles - Be prepared....this is a tough race!! 25 obstacles over 3.1 miles is not a joke. You may come away battered and bruised but you WILL have help all along the way. The teamwork is amazing and very refreshing. If you have the will to try an obstacle there will be runner that will make sure your will turns into a way to conquer it!

Race Management - Top notch! This isn't a race, it is a full on event! I highly recommend this race due to the management alone. No bottlenecks in registration, bag check was secure, shaded tents to chill out in before or after your wave, stage for entertainment including but not limited to music and contests.

Expo - There wasn't one which was disappointing. I do have to admit that I enjoy expos. Packet pickup is at one of the many Big Peach storefronts.

The Good - The race was pretty organized. There was a mixup with portapottys at the beginning of the race by I wasn't affected as I am not a person that has to use the restroom several times before the race. A pro photographer was at the start line in order to take photos with the Hotlanta Half finish line in the navy round which was nice. There was a good amount of support on the course which is always nice. Got to love the sound of a cowbell!!! The medals are a good size and the shirts are super soft. They are not tech shirts but that didn't bother me.

The Bad - Holy hills!!!! If you are not aware Atlanta is hilly and this one ends on a hill. Make sure you have fresh legs for the finish with this one!!!! After the race I was hoping for a bigger vendor showing with options to purchase shorts, etc. which there were none.

I would run this race again in a heartbeat. It was a lot of fun.

First the expo. It is a pretty good expo. A lot of vendors and there was beer. Who doesn't love free beer!!! Parking was easy and everything was pretty organized.

The transportation to get to the race one must take Marta. This is not an out and back course therefore I found a $5 parking lot near the finish and took Marta to the start. The Marta station is about a half mile from the start so not bad. Be prepared for crowds on the train, remember you're racing with 60,000 of your closest friends.

The run is amazing!!! Yes it is so hot that you are most likely running under a red advisory and it is dreadfully humid but the crowd is what makes it great. There are people everywhere cheering you on and ringing cowbells. Restaurants handing you food and beers, I had a slice of pizza and two beers on route. Why you ask, because I could!!!!! Be prepared for cardiac hill which is a monster to climb and remember this is Atlanta so there are rolling hills throughout. The finish was good as you are funneled into the park to collect your shirt and freebies such as snacks, water, ice towels and lots of entertainment.

This is a great race of you prepare for it. Make sure to start hydrating the day before and keep hydrating throughout the entire race. Organization and security are wonderful. The support is top notch.
