This was my first race ever and it feels like it was forever ago even though it's only been three years. The swag was ok, but the shirt was slim cut and fit my 12 year old, stick thin daughter better than me.The race itself was ok, getting belted by color at the different stations was fun, but I really got frustrated by the lack of seeding. Even as a brand new runner, I was still frustrated with having to weave around and jump up on curbs to get around the groups of gabby walkers that seemed to stay 4 abreast. I would have enjoyed it much more if runners were toward the front and walkers were at the back.
At the finish there was a dance party with plenty of overpriced merchandise to tempt participants, but not much as far as food and drink was concerned. The terrain itself circled the Indiana State Fairgrounds, so very flat and easy to run, but also not much to look at really. All in all, it's a great starter race and was a lot of fun. I'd recommend it to any new runner for their first race, but for the seasoned runner - no way.
