First race to run the gauntlet with 5 stars in each category. Clearly my favorite yet!
The local crew welcomed everyone to showcase their home trails and create a meaningful experience.
Great views along a ridge before peaking out around 12,000' at Rogers Pass.
Well marked course with great people at the aid stations.
If you haven't been to Winter Park, this is the way to experience it.

- Another amazing, well organized marathon.
- FAST, beautiful course (The best you'll get for a road race)
- Ideal temperature throughout the day
- Limited spectators
- Well designed swag, particularly the shirts
- Quick in and out expo with no tents/chances to buy unneeded gear
- Ran with Blank Slate by Taylor Swift stuck in my head for nearly 3 hours because of the music selection at the start. Whatever.

- Struggle 3,500' from the base of Telluride to Gold Hill. Then turn around and pound it out.
- Small local operation, which is great. Nice supportive running community.
- There's also a 38 miler with 14,000' of elevation gain and 14,000' elevation loss. Wicked. Nearly all finishers said it was hands down the hardest ultra course they've ever run.

- Best scenery of any road race. Fast point to point descent from Squaw Pass down to Morrison.
- Nearly absent of spectators. Still a relatively small, new race.
- Debacle with a bussing company left a number of marathoners stranded, and cancelled the half marathon. If I was writing this review on their behalf, the overall and race management would be a zero, but I had a great time.

- Much improved course from 2013. They rerouted the beginning, which kept everyone out of no man's land like the year before. Also, it was a much better tour of the city. Perfect weather helped.
- Still pretty hectic at the start and finish. Streets are a nightmare during and after the race.
- Promised gels, but never showed up until mile 21 (inconsistency happened year prior, too). Make sure you take everything you need.
