This was a super fun race. There were a lot of runners for a 5 miler, but it was well managed with a lot of different waves. Everything ran super smooth. The sweat truck was great, as you would drop off your sweats at the beginning of the race and pick them up at the end of the race using their approved bags. It was a really nice feature. It was fun hanging out in Camp Randal Stadium after and watching everyone finish.

The Madison Marathon was my first marathon. I thought the exposition was great, as it wasn't crowded and I didn't have to fight through a lot of vendors. The T-shirts were great!

The course scenery was great, except for about a 2 mile stretch that was a little boring. There were plenty of aid stations. The course was hilly, but not overbearing. The smallish running field made all the amenities extremely available.

I don't like the amount of emails I receive before and after the race.

This was my first longer race. I loved the entry price of $15. For this, you get to run and a pair of gloves. This is a no frills race, which is right up my ally. There's no exposition. One can keep warm before the race in the heated park shelter.

There was only 1 aid station, at the halfway point. The course had some rolling hills, but it wasn't overly difficult. I thought it was managed very well.

This is a great start of the season race!
