This was my first half marathon. I went into this race with some knowledge with how hilly the terrain was. I had no clue. I want to say that the whole 13 miles felt like it was one huge hill. It was up hill, down hill the whole time. But, my memory might be clouded. The humidity on race day was extreme and added to the difficulty with the hills.
There were aid stations set up at almost every two miles, which was great considering the heat. There was a gu station at mile 8.5, and ice cold wash clothes at mile 10. I saw at least 3 port o potties set up along the route as well. The volunteers were great and the race was very well organized.
My gps came in at 13.4 miles at the finish, the last mile felt very long! The scenery was spectacular. The race was routed around several local vineyards.
I would do this race again, but I think next year I will do the 5k.

The Hartford Strawberry run is a small hometown race in Hartford, Michigan. The race itself wasn't too difficult in regards to elevation and terrain. The volunteers were great. There was a pancake breakfast offered after the race included with your race entry fee. I will definitely do this race again.

I have done this race two years in a row, 2014 was their third year. I enjoy this race a lot, but its not very organized and the winners get basically nothing for winning. I love that the proceeds for this go to fund clean water in villages in Africa. The terrain was difficult this year, lots of trail hills and lots of sticky, stinky mud. This race also offers a kids fun mud run which is always fun. The cost for this race is kind of expensive, but I think I will continue to do it.

This little race is located in Coloma, Michigan. Parking was great, and packet pickup was a breeze. The volunteers were awesome as well as the DJ. The only negative thing about this race was the 5k was more like 3.25 miles, and the 10k was more like 6.4. Other than that it was lots of fun!

This race was held on the grounds of the Hannah and Friends homes. Great scenery, and great volunteers.
