Overall, the race was amazing. The only difficult part was the parking! We had to park on the grass and it took a little longer than usual to get everyone aligned as we had to back in which added to the time of getting to the race course. The weather called for sunny skies, unfortunately, it started to rain right at the start of it. It was great that there were pacers for 3, 315 and every 15 minute interval all the way up to 5 hours! What a way to get people moving. The medal for the marathon was HUGE! Love it. Around mile 21 the course became very rocky and muddy as it had to deviate from the flat course which was a problem for balance but overall, it was good. Aid stations and the people at them were friendly and they even had gummy bears!!! I prefer an out and back and not doing two loops of the same loop (sorry my preference) but overall, if you are looking for a flat course, needing to BQ in the PacNW, this is the race.

For the first time, I did a Mud run! Woohoo! It was fun. The DJ was not exactly the most energizing and exciting. However, all that aside, it was definitely muddy after a bit. I can say that after about 10 mins, I was beat. There was one aid station which was right before a massive hill (obviously) and only one because it's a 5K course. It takes place in the scenic backroads of Washington just 30 minutes from Portland.

The people all around were nice, energy was amazing and the camaraderie is pretty nifty and can't be beat. We helped one another.

On a negative note, the first wet slide was REALLY rocky underneath and one of our buddies may have hurt his tail bone and some wind knocked out. He's ok, just hurt.....

I'd recommend this to any newbie to a mud run. I'm not sure I'd do the Tough Mudder or Spartan yet but well on my way!

Amazing race when you train. Highly recommend doing hill work before hand. The people along the course is full and not a single gap of cheer space avail. The food after party and help is amazing

I wish there was a button for maybe when it comes to recommending this race. The first two and last two are incredibly difficult because there is no crowd support. Also, on the way out, there were craters and they had not been spray painted and I watched a runner go down. The turn around was in a grassy area which proved difficult for many runners. I think the race has potential but overall, I'm dissatisfied not because of the course but because there was no anthem at the beginning. I'm sorry, I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to that.

I would recommend this race to anyone who thinks they can handle the brutal wind, snow and whatever weather conditions that are thrown at them in the middle of winter. While the course wasn't fully cleared off, it presented challenges and excitement to any runner.
