This was the biggest race I had done at this point, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. I managed to get my best friend to sign up with me and we headed down to the expo race weekend. The expo was was small, but had a lot in it vendor/activity wise, I was pleasantly surprised. The race itself was an absolutely amazing experience, from the crowds dressed up with signs, residents along the race path decking out their houses/apartments, first responders dressed up and cheering...I've never experienced anything like it! If I had to pick one bad thing it would have to be how muddy/slippery the check-in/checkout/finisher area is. I wish they would have laid down some straw or something. Other than that, an amazing race weekend!

I was actually a little nervous going into this race, but the staff at the expo were absolutely wonderful about answering any questions I had and the expo had an amazing variety of vendors! On race day it was incredibly hot and staff at the race made sure to keep runners updated and hydrated. I did get to complete the course, but I did hear how some runners of the half and full marathon were collected off the course once the race was black flagged due to extreme heat. Even under the extreme conditions the staff were really well organized and helpful.
