This was my third year doing the 10k and my first run on this new course they switched to. Unfortunately it was raining the whole race which more than half was running up hill. In the dark. I prefered the old course and the scenery that it encompassed far more. By the time I finished, there were a lot of fellow runners limping through the last part of the course. The expo is absolutely fantastic and even included yoga classes to help you limber up the day before. The staff as well as the aid stations were wonderful as usual! I also love the service me?women that give you your medal at the end.

I was sad that they canceled the race, but glad that they decided to be proactive about it by offering a solution for the participants in this unprecedented time. Going virtual allows us to still participate, but in our own space (mine being a treadmill) and time. Sign up was easy, and I appreciated the note saying they would send the goodie bag and medal in June or when it was deemed safe. The only unfortunate thing is that the link to upload your result seems to be broken. Other than that, the communication had been great on their end.

So glad this race wasn't flat out canceled this year and they gave a virtual option! I was really looking forward to this course and had heard a lot of great things about the race itself. Even though the race was virtual, you got the usual shirt, bib and medal swag accompanied with some candy. It took a little bit to get the swag, but I expected that due to the sheer volume of people going virtual. I just wish they didn't take down the link to enter you time so quickly. Other tha that, sign up on the site was super easy.

This was my 3rd year doing this event with my friends and every year it keeps getting better! There's the local joke about "What hill?" referring to the large hill that comes a little under half way through the race, other than that, it's pretty even terrain. The atmosphere is fantastic with a lot of families and friends dawning costumes for the event! I prefer this very popular "hometown race" opposed to the larger city Turkey Trots.

I had been told how insanely packed this rae had been in the past and avoided signing up, but after they announced that they had switched up the course to accommodate crowd size, my friends and I decided to give this race a chance. It actually wasn't bad at all, there was costume judging in the beginning and the start/finish of the race was at Welcome Stadium, which perfectly accommodated the crowd before and after the race. The only really "crowded" part was at the beginning and trying to weave through the dozens of strollers, but once you broke through those, it was pretty much smooth sailing til the finish. The staff was fantastic, which they always are at all ORRRC events. Perfect weather as well.
