This was my second FTPR 50k. The race always sells out inside the first day of registration. Here's why...
Though the race directors and the course have changed over the last few years, it has remained a top notch event. Those in charge are seasoned ultra runners so they know how to look out for the participants. And they do. The course is inside Mohican State Park. Mo is a true treasure to this area. The course is well marked, beautiful and CHALLENGING. The swag is always very cool and you get a buckle if you complete the 50k. I highly recommend this race!

Possum races rule. Well marked. Fun.
Super easy parking inside Delaware State Park. Best swag ever. Race directors who are on top of all aspects of making this a great event. These are the same guys who coordinate Seamus O'Possum and Forget the PR events. If you're looking for a first 50k, here it is. The course is non-technical and does not have a ton of elevation change.
Getting in is tricky though. You must register at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve to ensure you get in. It will sell out pretty quickly. First time ultra runners get special recognition of some sort each year. I've seen them achieve 100% finish rate before! Everyone is so encouraging.
Best yet, all proceeds go to the Delware and Richland county Special Olympics.

Fun and beautiful trail marathon through Pocahontas State Park. Well marked non-technical trails. Many fire roads were used. The course had just enough elevation change to be a decent challenge. It was nice to escape Ohio to some warmer weather in the spring. We stayed in a cabin inside the state park and it was perfect. Race proceeds went to disabled veterans. Race t-shirts were awesome.

This was a HOT race. The course was through quaint neighborhoods and a golf course. Some rolling hills. This race shirt remains one of my favorites to this day. Packet pick up was at a local running store and was easy. Everything was well organized and fun. Post race food was very good too. Parking was not a problem at all.

This was my first big race and I loved it. I loved the opening ceremony. Getting to do this event along side many disabled runners was inspiring to me. My husband and I raised funds for Wounded Warriors for this race. It felt great to contribute to this charity.
This course is chocked full of historical sights. Definitely a bucket list race!
