This race was absolutely amazing from the pre packet pick up at the Glass Museum to the creating of your own wineglass to the bus out to the start to the course and its supporters to the finish line and of course the finishers medal! This race really exceeded so many of my expectations to the point that I am considering doing the full there this year! They bused you to the beginning of the race which was located at a school and yes there were plenty of bathrooms for those pre race jitters! They had photographers capturing great moments at the start, throughout, and the finish as well. The course itself was relatively flat with a few small hill climbs that were very manageable. It was a point to point race which was also great because it was so cool to see the distance you covered on map versus races that loop or are out and back. The people along the course were awesome as well handing out goodies including food, drinks, and even tissues! Even on the more remote areas of the course, there were people dotted along to keep that positive momentum! The swag for the race was great and included t-shirt, sticker, wineglass that you could design yourself, and the end was the best part because you got the finishers medal. This medal is by far my favorite medal I have ever received as it is a locally made, pressed glass medal (this year's color was green). It honestly really just took the whole thing up a notch for me especially considering that we were in the town of Corning where glass is such a big deal! They could have easily just given a dinky metal medal, but this was such a nice touch. The only downside I would say is that with the race being on Sunday, everything around that area is generally closed down so you can't really enjoy a beer or burger at the local joints. Outside of that, this race was so much fun and my friends and I all really enjoyed it!
