I enjoyed running the Moose on the Loose Half. Parts of the course are running through lovely park space and well kept, well worn trails - half were doing loops through an adjacent industrial park type area.

Parking/Race Access - It was pretty easy getting settled and parked at the race. Ample parking and kind volunteers to ask questions of.

Start Line - The start line was well manned. Although this was a relatively small race, the start was pretty quick.

Course - I doubt we ran the risk of seeing any moose on the course, but the parts that were in the woods were lovely and enjoyable. The finish line announcer was great and the finish in the stadium felt great.

Post-Race - The post-race food was pretty minimal. It felt like more communal shared food than the standard post-race fair that you get at many races.

Overall, the race isn't necessarily one to write home about but the small size and kind volunteers made it quite memorable. I would recommend this to a friend!

This race was the most beautiful race I've ever done - and Vacation Races puts on a great race! I can't recommend this race highly enough. From registration to the finish line, the communication was easy to consume and understand. It's easy to get answers - and it's easy to change your bib to someone else. And, if - god forbid - you need to call someone with a question you can't find an answer to, rest assured that you will get a prompt and friendly returned call.

Parking/Race Access - This was a little more complicated than I would have liked, but it's to be expected. This is a point to point race through gorgeous canyonlands and geographic features. There is ONE MAIN HIGHWAY...and the race runs along it. Just know that the information that Vacation Races is sending you may seem intense, or complicated, or like you're arriving way too early - but they have thought of everything for you and are trying to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Start Line - It had rained - and maybe even snowed - the night before the race. By the start of the race, MANY runners had a ton of red clay dirt caked to their precious running shoes, and everyone was a little bit chilled. The race is quite large and starts in reasonably sized waves.

Course - I can't aptly describe the outstanding views, the sense of being so small when next to such huge geologic feathers, and the pure joy of running in that area.

Post-Race - I was thrilled to get a box of snacky goodies post-race - which included chocolate milk.

Again, this race is amazing and you should definitely add it to your wish list!

The BAA half isn't all it's cracked up to be. From parking to finish line, this race just wasn't my cup of tea. The parking situation was crazily complicated...and very far away. Along the race itself, the aid stations were insufficient and so were the port-a-potties. I was grateful to live along the route, so my friends and family were out to cheer me on. Overall though, the crowd support for this is nearly non-existent. The course itself is ADJACENT to some of the most beautiful green space in Boston...but it doesn't run through it. Ultimately, the entirety of the race is run along an urban highway and doesn't showcase the area's beauty at all. Seems like a missed opportunity. I would not run it again...
