This race was my first half marathon back in 2013 and I have loved it every year since The weather is always different so I can't review it based on the weather. The support on course is always great and it's a lot of fun to run over the bridge. The views of the lake are great! This year the had to red flag it. While it was disappointing it does show that the safety of the runners is very important to the race director and staff. The expo is average but there are always something I find that I want to pick up or a race I want to register for. If you are looking for a Milwaukee half marathon this is one of the best.

While communications with the race director after the race have been nice this race was a terrible experience for me. I had traveled over 5 hours to run this race and the offer for half price off another race in the area was just not helpful at all. The course was not marked at all and we were told there would be volunteers at every turn. At about mile 5 runners were going in various directions and I followed some that were pretty sure they knew what the course was. At about mile 8 a police officer saw me and waved me on and said, "You are back on course now." I got to the finish line and my watch showed just under 11 miles. This wasn't just my problem because I saw runners running all over in different directions to make up "lost mileage". There was no communication at the finish line even though it was obvious runners were running past the line to find more miles. An e-mail later in the week said a volunteer just had not shown up. This should have been noticed and corrected before the race started. I will not be running this race again.
