I decided to run this race because I have a friend who lives in the area and I was just looking to run sometime in February. This race exceeded any expectations I had.

There really wasn't any expo. I arrived the evening before the race and they had a packet pick up at the race location because they had a 1/6th marathon Friday night. You could also pick up your bib the morning of the race. The staff was very friendly and the registration included a nice hoodie.

The race takes place on a path that is about 4.4 mile loop. The Friday night race in one lap. Saturday the half and full marathons started at 8:00. The half consisted of three loops and the full was six laps. This was part of the theme of feeling like you are doing something over and over just like the movie.

Everyone waited in a heated tent until they were called to the start about 10 minutes before the start. They had medical services and a bag check inside the tent. You could also get your post-race beverages and some chicken noodle soup (all free) in the tent after you finished. However when I finished the tent was like a sauna and it didn't smell the best so I skipped it and got on the shuttle back to the parking area. They were very upfront about things in registration. The course may or may not be cleared of ice and snow. They would do their best to make it as nice as they could but this was a race in February in Michigan. There was some ice at the very start and after a few hundred feet it was just a snow-covered path, The path was cleared (due to warm temperatures the previous week) at about the .75 mile mark until about mile 2.25 where it returned to snow-covered. It wasn't slippery much but it was very much like running on the beach.

They had the first aid station at mile 1. They had water and Gatorade. Then at about mile 3 the had a second aid station. There they had water, Gatorade, Coke, Mountain Dew, cookies, and pretzels. They had another water and Gatorade station at the start/finish line.

The medal was nice. This was the fifth year of the race so it featured the number 5.

All of the staff and volunteers were great. There wasn't much parking at the location but there was a park about 3 miles away with 2 shuttles that kept getting runners to and from the race. You never had to wait outside and each shuttle left about every 10 minutes. There were a few small hills on the course but the biggest challenge was the snow. It was obvious I was using muscles I normally wasn't using.

This was a great course and I had a great time.

This is one of the best races I have participated in. Before I start let me say that this course is very hilly. That being said, I loved this race. The expo is small but any time you get a chance for one on one time with Jeff Galloway it's a great thing. While the parking is extremely limited it was clearly communicated in race communications that the best way to and from the race is the MARTA train. The hotels in the area make it nice to walk to the start and from the finish line.
The race itself was great. There was a lot of course support and the volunteers were amazing. It is a scenic course and since this was my first visit to Atlanta I can't compare it to other races in the area when it comes to scenery. The finish was amazing. Jeff was there to give medals to those that wanted the given directly from him. Instead of mylar blankets they gave jackets similar to what you see doctors wearing. It kept us very warm on a brisk morning. There was also a bag and plenty of food and treats at the finish. I am running a half marathon in all 50 states and I am glad I chose this one for my Georgia race. I will be back to run it again. It's also nice that the race is VERY affordable.

This was a fun family-friendly race.
The packet pick up was at a local running store so there really wasn't an expo.
The race started and finished in a nice park that had parking for everyone. If you got there closer to start time you might have to walk a bit but there was plenty of parking. The swag was a nice fleece hoodie and there was hot cider and caramel apples at the finish.
The race itself was on almost all paved trails through a few parks. While there wasn't a lot to see it was through some forest type areas and a very enjoyable run. Some people don't like an out and back course but I enjoy them for local races because you get to see other people you know running. It was very flat and fast. I will gladly run this race again.

I really enjoyed this race. The only real points I can criticize are I don't like races that require you to go to the expo the day before the race and don't have any option for day of race pick up. The other criticism is they could do so much more with the theme and the route that is run.
Those being mentioned this was a run race. The course is a lot of fun. There is a lot of paved trail and a little dirt trail running. The trail through the forest is where they could do some theming with the Haunted Hustle idea. There were some small hills to keep it challenging but nothing too tough. You can dress up and they do give awards but you can feel just as comfortable running "traditionally". It is a smaller race and very well run. It was cold on race day and they had some indoor areas to stay warm before and after the race. There were plenty or aid stations and they were well staffed. I would recommend this race to any runner.

I loved this course. It is run along the shores of Lake Michigan for most of the course. The parts that are not run along the shore is run through parks such as Seven Bridges. That part of the course included stone stairways. It is a great mixture of road racing and trail racing. There were great aid stations and a lot of crowd support near the finish area. For the half marathon there is a 9 mile loop south and a 4 mile loop north. The course is challenging but it keeps your mind working constantly. I am looking forward to running the course again in the future!
