MM#11945 This year I repeated this marathon. Soldiers marathon was my first marathon I completed in 2013. The route was changed a little 2 years later in good parts in my opinion. The race starts and end at the Ft. Benning museum. The runway is lined with flags. This year they had an artist painting a live view of the race activities. The first 6 miles are done on the military base. The military personal & families are full of great spirit. They have several hydration tables available. The middle section of the marathon is on a beautiful trail that runs along the river. There are several hydration tables available but little to no crowd support. The marathon goes into the downtown city of Columbus where you go past a tailgate, over a few small bridges, running over cobblestone. Then the race leads back on the trail with the finish back at the museum. Overall I would do the race again and recommend it to seasoned marathoners who don't need a lot of crowd support. MM#11945
