The Glass City marathon is a favorite in my hometown for a reason - it rocks!
Race Entry Fees - Reasonably priced, especially if you get in on early bird pricing.

Start Area - There is a lot of excitement going on race day morning. But still you have access to a lot of port a potties, which is a must. The race is well organized by pace of runners, and the pacers are easy to find. No need to be crammed into the start corrals at the last minute - well laid out so you don't stress it.

Race atmosphere - The race course starts a bit busy with both half and full marathoners running together, but thins out nicely within the first few miles. You'll see runners all along the way, but not be so crowded that you are overwhelmed.

Water stops - They've got a lot, well stocked and energetic. Enough said :)

Course - It's pretty flat, only a few ups and downs. Nothing major! You'll wind your way through many of Toledo's neighborhoods and through a beautiful metro park, going on a lot of the areas bike trails. A long straight shot to the University of Toledo will give you a chance to finish strong.

Post race - They do a post-race party right. Pizza and beer are a highlight. I've got a whole collection of beer mugs from this race. Nice touch!!

Parking - Lots of parking spots close by on campus so you don't have to walk too far on those worn out legs.

It's a Boston qualifier, so if that's your goal - get your PR and BQ at Glass City!
