Obviously NYRR know how to organize a great race. Beautiful scenery. Great volunteers! The spectators at this race were awesome! No other race I have done has matched the atmosphere as far as spectators and experience.
The only downside to this huge race is once you hit the finish line that's it. No post race party or fun.

What's not to love about running in New Orleans?! St. Charles, Jackson Square, French Market, Esplanade Ave, City Park.....Awesome Local Bands, Crowd Support....Fun Fun Fun for 13.1! It's always fun to spend a weekend in New Orleans with a Race to go along with the fun. The Expo was great! Tons of Vendors and very organized. HF#6283

I have done the race 3 years in a row. Great crowd support. Normally great weather. Very well organized. Great expo. I usually do the DE Ja Vu challenge (5k or qtr marathon on Sat then 13.1 or 26.2 on Sunday ). You get extra swag for that. This race also gives Marathon Maniacs and Half Fanatics VIP treatment. Great weather. Nice crowds in the neighborhoods. I missed out on the Blue Angels Flying that year because of the government shutdowns. It was nice and cool in the morning for the race but by the afternoon perfect weather to hit the beach. I will return soon so I can enjoy the Blue Angels and the race! HF#6283
