The volunteers were helpful, the race was well-organized, and the after party was family friendly and fun. There isn't an expo before the race, but the packet pickup was well-organized and we were able to get a bunch of free swag. The course is relatively flat and there were many supportive spectators and volunteers along the course.

Organized packet pickup, wonderful volunteers, free race photos, and excellent after party. Rain threatened to cancel the 2016 event, but it ended up going off without a hitch. The course was flat and lined with supportive spectators and volunteers. Not only did we receive free race photos, but a sweet finisher jacket and medal and a wonderful after party.

Chevron Houston Marathon weekend is special from beginning to end. It starts with the 5K on Saturday that kicks off the entire race weekend. It is so fun to listen to the announcer and cheer for the runners before heading to the expo. The Expo is to runners what Disney World is to kids. I had so much fun there. Lastly, there is marathon day. The 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon began with a warm welcome from volunteers. Next, I was able to attend a wonderful Mass with a moving homily. Finally, it was time to line up to run. I felt strong and capable throughout my race, but the volunteers and spectators along the course helped me through those last treacherous miles. Wonderful race from beginning to end.

There is no expo, but there is a great after party with excellent food & Shiner beer. The course goes through neighborhoods as well as through pastures on a rocky path with a countryside view. The volunteers are great & the event is well organized & loads of fun. The 4th annual run is November 21st, 2015 & it will be my 4th time to participate. Excellent race.
