You can read a more detailed review of my experience on my blog: http://cowgirlruns.com/minneapolis-marathon-recap/

Pros:
- the race was extremely well supported
- aid stations and volunteers were fantastic
- finishers jacket for marathoners
- amazing scenery
- very well organized
- lots of food at the finish

Cons:
- race website difficult to navigate
- original elevation chart didn't adequately show the significant elevation changes in the race
- last 6ish miles are uphill, mostly gradual, but still very difficult

The organization and the scenery makes me want to recommend this race, but hills were unexpected and very difficult. The hills didn't start until about mile 12, so this would be a great half marathon course.

You can read a full recap of my 2014 race experience here http://cowgirlruns.com/seawheeze-2014/ and my 2013 race experience here http://cowgirlruns.com/race-recaps/august-2013-seawheeze/

Pros:
- running the seawall (part of the reason is race is capped at 10,000 is due to restrictions on using the seawall in a race)
- Vancouver in August
- Yoga
- Sunset festival
- crowd support
- post-race brunch
- location in the city
- finishers prize (hat this year)

Cons:
- ability for non-runners to have access to the store to purchase items to resell on eBay - many items were sold out by 11am
- poor communication about the times the vendors were open. We were treated poorly by a volunteer when standing in line for airbrush tattoos
- the registration process. We had to wait an additional two weeks because the servers crashed and many people weren't able to register
- many LLL employees were given entries into the race and didn't attend, taking up spots for people who would have wanted to run the race
- no differentiation between water and electrolyte cups and water stations

It may seem that some of the cons outweigh the pros, but I do find this to be an overall positive experience. The course is beautiful and well supported. If you need any kind of fuel you won't find it as the expo is purely a LLL store and you'd need to find a running store for those items.

Overall I'd recommend this race and it's a great girls weekend in Vancouver.
