With another half marathon coming up, this was definitely a nice way to get some training in without being overly exerted. It was drizzling by the time I got there and it went to rain around Mile 2-3, but it was a nice quick run, and by the time you were at mile 3-4, it was starting to get sunny out, but still running in the rain is not that fun. The booths were held at Mineral Springs which was kind of funny since it was sponsored by Poland Spring. It was a nice run and just when you thought you've seen all of Central Park, you see a new path.

As always, the paths were super organized and the fluid stations all had Poland Spring water, and there were a few for it being a 5 miler. I didn't stop as it was nice and cool enough, but when you crossed the finish line, they handed it out full bottles of Poland Spring water, which was definitely nice and the bag check line was definitely more organized.

The only issue I had was that trying to pick up the bib was a lot harder than anticipated. For some reason, when I looked up Mineral Springs in Central Park, it gave me directions that were a lot further which I thought was crazy, and once I got there, barely cutting it, trying to get past the fences to get to the bib pickup was an issue. I definitely wished that they would've specify on their site where Mineral Springs was streetwise, so for those not familiar with Central Park would know where to go and not have to rush.

Other than that, it was a great race and a great way for those to get their training in before the NYC Marathon or any other half marathons happens!

Only one mile? No problem! If I can run 13.1, what's stopping me from running one mile? Except I forgot that this is supposed to be your fastest mile! But overall, it was a great race and one of the shortest! The elevation was flat, which is nice considering the training I needed to do before the Staten Island Half. I actually liked the t-shirt as it was a really soft material. The mile felt extremely long, but it was definitely a great way to PR! It was pretty organized and it was held next to Central Park. The aid stations were decent, but I didn't expect too much since it was only 1 mile, so I was surprised that they did have a station. The only issue I had was that they were passing out green striped bagels. I don't know why they were that color, but it was definitely a personal no-no (definitely more than happy to give that bagel away!). The scenery wasn't much, but it's okay, since you were too busy running as fast as you can. I did like the way they did the corrals and it was definitely cool seeing the other runners in different age groups.
Overall, it was a great race and I'll definitely do it again!

It was a pretty cool concept when it was advertised. After all, who doesn't love the 90's? (Come on, boy bands, amazing and bright fashion, great tv shows?). Additionally, it was for a good cause also since it was supporting a hospital and all proceeds were donated to said organization. However as race day came closer, it was clear that there was a lack of organization when the race location was moved last minute and the details of bib pickup weren't given until last minute and there were a lack of directions to the race area.
Raceday was pretty cool. It was held in a very pretty section of Philadelphia (near Fairmount park). There were a plenty of people dressed in cool 90's clothing and there were 90's music playing. However, I must say, it was pretty disorganized. There wasn't really anyone announcing as to when the race started, people just migrated towards the starting area. There weren't any specific sections/corrals, which made it potentially an issue. When the race started, there was music, but as it went further, the music stopped for a long while. Additionally, my other issue is that they didn't give you a map of the race so you had to follow others or else be lost as to where you are running (it's not like the park is small either). Overall, the scenery was really pretty and definitely nice to run through. Although there really wasn't any water/aid stations along the run which was another downfall since it was really humid during the run.
Overall, it was a decent run with nice scenery, but the disorganization of the race really kept it from reaching the potential it could have been. Hopefully, if it continues, it will improve.

It was my first half marathon and it was definitely the best way to start out. For the most part it was a very easy run with a lot of flat ground except for the last few miles which were three highway ramps in a row (definitely not expected). For a first time Disney half-marathon runner, I expected a lot of great scenery of the parks. I was a little disappointed that a lot of the scenery consisted of the highway. You do get to run across Magic Kingdome, but that happens after the first 6 miles or so. The nice thing is there are a lot of mini disney scenes during the run where you can take pictures with the Disney characters, such as the Disney Princes. There are cute disney mile markers too and definitely great water/aid stations. The race finishes off at Epcot and you get to run through it. Everyone had amazing costumes and there was a lot of support! The finish line was great, you get greeted by Disney characters and it just gives you the support you needed. Over all, it was a great run and I would definitely do it again!
