Ran the first half, which is the part that goes over the Golden Gate Bridge. Starts at Embarcadero, very early (no public transport, that's how early), but it was easy to get dropped off near the start. I can't speak to parking.
First few miles are flat, through the touristy area- Fisherman's Wharf, etc. Steep climb to the bridge, which is itself a hill. This is the only SF race that gets the roadbed, although only two lanes. You run pretty close to traffic. Everything after that is rolling hills until the First Half Finish.
Finish line festivities in Golden Gate Park left much to be desired and the shuttle bus line to get to the start line was quite long. Also had difficulty tracking runners on their app.
Expo was modest, but had plenty of freebies. Good location, too. I thought the organization was smooth and they did photos for free in 2014. They also do a good deal on race fees if you sign up early enough. First Half and Full Marathon tend to sell out first. Good luck if you race it!
