As one runner put it “There is no race more motivating and inspiring than the Marine Corps Marathon,” and we’re inclined to agree.

Runners praised the on-course scenery through Rock Creek Parkway, around the historic National Mall, and a chill-inducing finish up toward the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington Cemetery. And with Marines cheering you on at every mile marker and every aid station, it’s impossible to NOT give this race everything you’ve got.

The Marine Corps Marathon is now lottery-only, which is hardly surprising when you consider all the race has to offer. Put this one on your bucket list.
