Runners raved about the opportunity to cross international borders (twice!), crossing over the Ambassador Bridge and back through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (the only underwater mile in America!). The Detroit Free Press Marathon was also praised for great communication with registrants and their active social media presence.

Runners of the Detroit Marathon also earn some awesome bling, which is what propelled Detroit into the Top 10 list of Awesome Medals and Bling.

Dating back to 1978, this race has become the “Goldie Locks” of races - a flat Midwest course that still has beautiful Fall scenery, and a bucket-list worthy border crossing.
