The Route 66 Marathon was amazing from start to finish! The crowd support was second to none the whole race through. The community really pulls together to throw the biggest race side party out there!

The course is a little bit hilly but nothing leg breaking if you push on through and coast down the other side.

The Center of the Universe detour pops up between miles 25 and 26 and you might be questioning your decision to turn in, but the extra 0.3 miles is worth it! More partying down the corridor, collect your coin, and get back on the course! There is also marker at 25.9 miles so you know what you actual “marathon distance” was when including the .3 mile detour.

Can we talk about this medal too? It is gorgeous and the wheel spins!

Overall in my quest to get 50 states, this will be one to remember.
