This is not your typical race, so I rated above on a few things that are not a part of this race series - I just gave the best rating the whole series deserves overall.

This is run at Berry Springs Park, Georgetown, Texas the third Saturday of every month, and is organized by Georgetown running club, and headed by Bill Shroeder.

Vern’s No Frills 5K is just what it sounds like, no expo, no shirt of medal, no chip timing, all for $1 entry fee. It is free to students K-12 . There is race day registration only with cash or check, and when you run your first race you get your bib which you then get to keep and use for your next races. I know of one friend who has written all the dates she has run and her times on the back of the bib.

The course is a paved trail, the same every month, with a water station you pass twice. Beautiful green park with plentiful trees that provides a beautiful finish line. Although not chip timed finishes are clocked at the end and results posted online. The course record to date is 16.11

Probably the most awesome part of this race is that t the end of the year, minus any costs, the money is given to the Williamson County Parks & Recreation.
