By far the best race experience I’ve encountered!!! From registration, to race email updates, to packet pick-up (with free bourbon), to the course itself, to the Bourbon Bash after party (with more bourbon, beer, pizza, burgoo, on-site medal engraving, live band, etc.) this race was amazing!
Online registration was easy especially if you already have a runsignup profile.
Packet pick-up had a great energy with free bourbon tastings, UBHM merchandise for sale, and Fleet Feet set up an on site store for any last minute needs.
The course was gorgeous from downtown, through Olmsted’s Cherokee Park, and back. It is also a relatively flat course aside from the park.
The medals were awesome with a built in bourbon bottle spinner. You could also have your name and race time engraved on site which was really cool.
And as I mentioned before the after party was by far the best I’ve ever experienced. It was held under cover of 4th Street Live. The street was closed off for a block party feel. A large stage was in the street with a great local cover band. Your wristband gave you 4 bourbon tastings, a beer, a slice of pizza and then a cup of burgoo. This was all on top of the banana, bagel, water, Powerade, milk, and Mylar wrap you got as you crossed the finish line.
Altogether a very well put together race and event. I highly recommend it and will do it again next year!
